Must-See Events

Ensenada hosts a number of annual events, including the grape harvest fiestas in August, a celebration that includes wine tasting, concerts, soirées, and samplings of regional cuisine. Another must-see event is the weeklong pre-lent Carnival, with its explosion of colorful costumes and floats and pulsing, infectious music and dancing. In addition, there are international sporting events such as the Baja 1000 off-road race and the Rosarito-Ensenada Bike Race.

For those who seek outdoor adventure and enjoy the natural environment, there is no place like Baja. It offers some of the best sports fishing in the world, challenging waves that attract surfers from around the world, and well-maintained marinas and anchorages for parking your boat. La Bufadora, a magnificent marine geyser located just south of Ensenada, is a natural wonder that shoots water nearly 70 feet high.

Blue Skies, Gray Whales

Some 24,000 California Gray Whales migrate each winter from their feeding grounds in the cold waters of the Bering Sea to the warmer lagoons off Mexico’s Baja Peninsula. Residents of the Towers at Puntazul are privileged with incredible views of the whales’ quiet, miraculous beauty. If you desire an up-close visit with the California Grays, we highly recommend you take the trek south to Laguna San Ignacio. And while you’re at it, be sure to discover the historical Spanish missions, which are quite a thing to behold.

Annual events and festivals include the Rosarito to Ensenada Bike Ride, the Rosarito Fair, Mainly Mozart Festival, a wine and lobster festival, volleyball tournaments, and much more.

Rosarito is also home to Xploration, the film studio where the movie Titanic was made. Attractions include film sets, prop rooms and exhibits where visitors learn about the magic of movie making in an entertaining and interactive way.
